Chevy Achieved Its Highest Sales Ever in 2011

How many vehicles did Chevrolet sell globally last year? A shiny 4.76 million, passing its own goal and driving parent company, General Motors', sales to over nine million units, a 7.6 percent gain versus 2010 numbers. Chevy's own numbers were up 13 percent in the United States in 2011, with huge gains in China (9.5 percent), Russia (49 percent), Vietnam 979 percent), German (21 percent), and Turkey (30 percent) as well. 1,775,812 vehicles were sold in the U.S. alone.

2012 Chevy Sonic Receives Highest Safety Scores Available

Both the 4-and 5-door variants of the new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic have received a 5-star overall rating for safety, as determined by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). The Sonic is now one of ten 2012 GM models with a perfect safety score. Gay Kent, Executive Director of Vehicle Safety for GM explains the importance of these ratings, stating, "We developed Sonic to exceed customer expectations of subcompacts in terms of segment-leading safety features.
