There are only a few sporty vehicles worldwide that can claim to be members of the "11-second club," a special "group" created for Chevrolet vehicles that can travel a quarter mile in around eleven seconds or less featuring only standard, street-legal parts. One vehicle that meets these requirements is the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, a slightly more speedy and more powerful version of the standard 2012 Chevy Camaro, which can drag race a quarter-mile in under twelve seconds.

This next generation Camaro will be the sixth of its kind, but it will be the second generation since the car was taken out of the brand's lineup in 2002 and came back refreshed in 2010. And, what a comeback it made! Currently, the 2012 Chevy Camaro is one of America's best-loved sports cars.

The 2012 Chevrolet Sonic is gaining quite a reputation for itself as a quality, dependable vehicle. This comes as no surprise to those that know the rigorous road tests the new Sonic went through during its quality inspections- before it hit dealerships. One of the best examples of this advanced durability testing is the accumulation of what Chevrolet calls "Seth Miles." This special collection of 14,000 miles was racked up by Seth Valentine, Quality Manager for the vehicle.

Chevrolet has joined forces with the United Way for Southeastern Michigan, Viacom, and the Get Schooled Foundation to encourage school attendance and up graduation rates in Detroit schools. Seventeen schools will compete in a friendly competition to score points for school attendance and participation in special activities, such as a video contest, trivia quizzes, and signing up for wake-up calls every morning from their favorite celebrities. Marie Groark, Executive Director of the Get Schooled program explains, "Friendly competition is a great motivator for high school students, and we continue to see proof of this with our national and local attendance challenges. We're excited to bring the challenge program to Detroit in a powerful way thanks to the support of [our partners]."¹

How many vehicles did Chevrolet sell globally last year? A shiny 4.76 million, passing its own goal and driving parent company, General Motors', sales to over nine million units, a 7.6 percent gain versus 2010 numbers. Chevy's own numbers were up 13 percent in the United States in 2011, with huge gains in China (9.5 percent), Russia (49 percent), Vietnam 979 percent), German (21 percent), and Turkey (30 percent) as well. 1,775,812 vehicles were sold in the U.S. alone.

Great news, readers! Both the 4-and 5-door variants of the new 2012 Chevrolet Sonic have received a 5-star overall rating for safety, as determined by the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). The Sonic is now one of ten 2012 GM models with a perfect safety score. Gay Kent, Executive Director of Vehicle Safety for GM explains the importance of these ratings, stating, "We developed Sonic to exceed customer expectations of subcompacts in terms of segment-leading safety features. From the largest vehicles in our lineup to the smallest, we are putting overall crashworthiness and state-of-the-art safety technologies at the top of the list of must-haves." ¹.
