The Chevrolet COPO Camaro - The Drag Race Ready Concept

There's been a lot of talk about the forthcoming Chevy Camaro ZL1 as of late. But, there's a new Camaro concept in the gullwings that warrants attention, too. Calling upon a bygone era when Chevy could sneak a high-performance variant past the powers that be at GM, straight into discerning auto connoisseurs' hands, it's called the COPO (Central Officer Production Order) Camaro.  However, this highly-advanced model, designed to meet the stringent codes outlined by the NHRA Stock Eliminator drag racing competition, won't go unnoticed.

That's what makes Chevy's latest concept, the COPO Camaro, so…

Chevy Cruze Tops the Charts for June Sales

Chevrolet had more than Independence to celebrate this Fourth of July. Late-breaking numbers show the Cruze, Chevrolet's new compact, was the best-selling passenger car in the U.S. in June, speeding past perennial favorites made by the Big H and Cylindrical T.

Specifically, Chevy Cruze sales for June 2011 ring in at 24,896 units...about 1,100 units more than the larger Chevrolet Malibu sedan. The Cruze was so popular last month that it wasn't just the best-selling passenger car in the U.S., it was the third best-selling model overall.

Chevrolet describes the Cruze by saying…

Chevrolet Continues Change of Image with 2012 Sonic

Chevrolet's brand has always been defined by their ultra-rugged trucks and SUV's as many of you may know. The American automaker is no longer concerned with this perception, a matter a fact they would prefer to lose that notion all together. The first small car to hit showroom floors, evidencing these efforts to re-brand themselves was the Cruze in 2010. And, the overhaul continues today with the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic.

The all-new Chevy Sonic subcompact is expected to be available in the form of both a four-door sedan and five-door hatchback. It will be the one and only…

A performance master from the day it first debuted in 1969, the Chevrolet Camaro ZL 1 is about to come back, resurrected as what the American automakers refers to as the fastest, most technologically advanced Camaro ever built.

Previously, we heard pieces of information related to the car. But, at last, Al Oppenheiser, Chief Engineer on the Camaro, has officially confirmed and updated some of the juicier details.

Contrary to initial whisperings, the 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL 1 will not get only six-speed manual transmission, but also what many perceive a more user-friendly automatic option. In addition, it will gain…

South Korea Gets Chevrolet Malibu First

The upcoming 2013 Chevrolet Malibu, which was unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, is already out in South Korea, sort of. The country is a huge draw for GM models, specifically Chevy vehicles. The scheduled redesign for Malibu, coming to the US in mid-2012, has already been implemented by S. Korean GM and is for sale on dealership lots in that country.

Chevrolet has indicated that the latest Malibu midsize sedan was designed with "global sales in mind." Although the car will be sold in 100 different markets across six continents, Chevrolet announced it will both sell and…

2012 Chevrolet Malibu Revealed

The 2012 Chevrolet Malibu is ready to go! It's looking like a beefed-up version of the Chevrolet Cruze. Malibu comes with better design features, safety options and engine choices.

"The current Malibu has...changed the way people think about Chevrolet," said Rick Scheidt, vice president of Chevrolet marketing. "This all-new Malibu delivers on the intangibles of today's Malibu but gives customers even more: more style, fuel efficiency, content and features, craftsmanship, and dynamic capabilities rivaling high-end sedans."

First off, let's set the record straight. There is no more V6 option in the next generation Chevy Malibu. Fear…

Chevrolet Colorado Concept

It has been quite some time since the Chevrolet Colorado got a makeover. But now the mid-sized pickup, which has out-done the opposition for years on end, is receiving a much deserved face-lift. General Motors chose to only teasing fans with a sneak peek, before the official unveiling later this March.

Both the upcoming Colorado and quality pre-owned Chevrolet pickups are coming to your local Chevrolet dealers, including Munday Chevy at N17800 North Freeway Houston…

2011 Chevrolet Malibu Named Top Safety Pick by IIHS

By no surprise, a recent study revealed that the biggest decision maker for car buyers when looking for a new vehicle is the safety rating. One mid-sized vehicle does this as good, if not better than the rest of its completion. This car is the new 2011 Chevrolet Malibu which was recently named a Top Safety Pick by the Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

To earn such an accolade from the IIHS, vehicles must prove their superiority by passing a series of rigorous high-speed crash assessments. These include: evaluations to the front, sides, and rear; a roof strength test; and…

Chevrolet Cruze RS Edition

Chevrolet began production of their Cruze compact more than three weeks behind schedule, but that hasn't stopped them for making one of the most anticipated cars from the auto maker. Construction of the Cruze RS optional appearance package began this week, Lesley Hettinger, a GM spokeswoman, stated. GM's Lordstown, Ohio plant was supposed to begin making the cars in early October, she said.

"There were some issues affecting the quality of the package, and in order to ensure that no vehicle leaves without meeting our standards, we held off until it was perfect," Hettinger said.

The Detroit-based automaker…
